Update the Zoom app on your computer!

Zoom launched a new version, Zoom Version 5.0 in the end of April. The new version has important security updates. To force the updates, the old versions (4.x) have stopped working from June on.

Check which version you have and update it if needed

  1. Open the Zoom app on your computer
    (The fastest way to do this on a Windows computer is to press the Win key and start writing the name of the app; in this case, usually just z will be enough to place Zoom as the first search result. However, if needed, you might need to write the whole name to get Zoom to be the first on the list. Then open Zoom, the fastest way to do so would be to press enter when the Zoom app is on the top of the list.)
  2. You can see the current version you are using from the Zoom launch window:
    Below the Sign in button you can see the version information, in this picture the version is 5.0.0.
    (Or if you have signed into the app, open the profile menu, choose Help and About Zoom to see the version.)
  3. If your version number starts with a 4, you should update your Zoom. If the version is 5.0.0, you are all set; your Zoom is up-to-date!
  4. If you have to update your Zoom, sign in to Zoom (If you are a student at Oamk, use SSO; the Company domain is oamk.zoom.us and use Oamk credentials as always) and in the profile menu, choose the Check for Updates option.
  5. Check the update is done and you are all set!
